About the Company

Yota Baron Productions

Yota Baron started elaborating the idea of what later became a company in 2005.

She appeared as the only Greek Flamenco singer in her country and due to her passion to learn and sing more, she started investigating ways to make flamenco singing more approachable to the audience. Soon, she started organizing her own performances, first in small theaters and pubs, and later in festivals and important halls of Greece, Turkey and Germany.

In 2009, she decided to combine her other passion, the one of helping and supporting children in need, with flamenco. Thus, she created a beautiful Christmas flamenco project, inviting all the local flamenco community to participate and to donate all the income from the show to institutions for children. This project became very famous and has already completed 10 years of existence. In 2019, it was presented in 4 countries (Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Greece), always loyal to its initial goal: help children.

In the meantime, she developed her skills in networking, managing and promoting events, while doing anything that was necessary to produce a show from A to Z;

After having been twice in the Netherlands and due to a series of circumstances, in 2017 she decided to move to Amsterdam.

Before leaving Greece, she felt the need to thank all the artists, friends of hers, together with whom she had “grown” artistically all those years. Thus, she came up with the idea to organize the first flamenco festival in yards, named “Hola”. It was a 3-day long fiesta, involving the whole flamenco community of Greece, open to the public and held in open-air yards. This, became our company´s ¨Hola Flamenco Festival”

In August 2017, she created the company “Yota Baron Flamenco Productions” and started to devote herself very actively to her own projects in the Netherlands. Soon, her work drew the attention of Flamenco Biennale of the Netherlands, whose director, Ernestina van de Noord, invited Yota to collaborate with them for the Biennale 2019.

It was the same year when she was called by the city of Gelsenkirchen (Germany) and an organization for Roma children who live in the area, to organize from scratch a totally new flamenco festival for the city.

After loads of hard work , she managed to deliver a 2-week long flamenco festival in various venues of the city, with major flamenco artists from Spain and the Netherlands; the Flamenco Dynamiko Festival.

Since January 2020, she is collaborating with the famous flamenco place in the city of Amsterdam “Cafe Duende” as an artistic manager.

The company currently runs various small projects, mostly in the Netherlands and Greece, and two bigger projects , the “Hola Flamenco Festival”, as well as the Christmas project Zambomba Flamenca.
